It’s not every day you get a new golf bag. But what do you look for when your trusty decade-old bag eventually gives up the ghost?

In the pro shop, there are stand, pencil and cart bags from multiple brands to choose from. All different sizes with their own unique features. So how do you navigate weighing up your options?

Did you know that 86% of club golfers use a trolley when they play golf?

If you play with a trolley – either push or electric – you’re best off having a suitable cart bag attached and ready to go.

Others enjoy heading straight to the tee with a quick-and-easy stand bag over their shoulders. However, one thing is inevitable in the golfing world, our time on the course is largely ruled by the weather and seasonal conditions.

When the outdoors is drastically different during the winter months, you may want to head out with something more practical, such as the waterproof cart bag that has lots of space to carry all of your accessories.

Please read on as we consider the benefits of the latest Callaway cart and stand bags as you’re using them during different seasons.

Your summer stand bag

You deserve to make the most of those pleasant summer rounds by heading out with the Hyper-Lite Zero stand bag.

As the name implies, this bag has an incredibly lightweight construction, and weighs under 3lbs! It’s both super-light and packed with features. The bag has a 4-way top with full-length dividers, and carbon fibre legs that fully support the bag when you’ve laid it down to rest.

The Hyper-Lite Zero has 7 separate pockets including a drinks pocket and internal mesh pocket, so you’ll have room for everything you could need when you’re out on the course. As we’ve stressed, the bag is incredibly light and portable, in part thanks to the grippy, integrated lift handle. This is a perfect bag to take to the course on a bright summer’s day!

Another excellent choice from Callaway is the Chev Dry stand bag. This bag is similarly light and maneuverable, weighing just under 5lbs. The top of the bag has a wide 9-inch opening that will give you plenty of room to store and remove your clubs without damaging or scratching them.

The Chev Dry is also very comfortable to carry around the course, the bag features Callaway’s Comfort Tech double strap, and there’s a padded, ventilated zone on the side to keep your hip cool while you’re carrying your clubs.

The stand mechanism is particularly sturdy on this bag, it’s been designed to work on all course-related surfaces as will as on different slopes and angles. The foot pad that extends the legs is slip-resistant. You can get this bag in different eye-catching colour styles, including red, pink, and blue.

Your winter cart bag

Let’s face it, there’s less time of day to play in the winter and it’s pretty much guaranteed to be quite chilly outside. You need a durable cart bag to take to the course with you when the elements are proving to be a challenge.

The HyperDry cart bag from Callaway will see you happily golfing all winter long. This bag is totally waterproof and the zippers have a seam-sealed construction, so your valuables will stay safe from the rain. There are 8 waterproof pockets including a cooler pocket, so you’ll certainly not be lacking for storage space.

The bag is easy to attach to trolleys, the bag weighs a superb 4.4lbs and doesn’t feel bulky in any way. It’s 11% lighter and 50% more waterproof than previous models, so even if the forecast is calling for a downpour, you’ll be totally prepared.

While we could spend all day weighing up the pros and cons of using each kind of bag at different times of the year, one thing is for certain, if you’re playing with a Callaway bag you’ll be having a good time. If you’re thinking of getting yourself a new golf bag we’d be more than happy to walk you through your options and offer you our recommendations.
