Opening his account

Tyrrell Hatton was one of only four players to end the Arnold Palmer Invitational under par as he held on in tricky conditions to land his first PGA Tour title and record the first Bay Hill victory for an Englishman.

2017 champion Marc Leishman ran him close but fell one-shot short with a double-bogey at the third ultimately proving his downfall.

There was more misery for McIlroy though who started Sunday joint second before a pair of double-bogeys dropped him to a tie for fifth.
