Four decades of victories Lee Westwood recorded his own little piece of history when he closed out the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship on Sunday. Winning by two from Frenchman Victor Perez and English duo Matthew Fitzpatrick, and Tommy Fleetwood, it meant the popular former world number one has now claimed Tour titles across four decades – his first was all the way back at the 1996 Scandinavian Masters. It was also Westwood’s 25th European Tour victory to leave him 8th on the all-time list and thrust him back into Ryder Cup contention for Whistling Straits later this year.
